The Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on July 3, 2019 secured the conviction of Odili Peters and three others for offences bordering on romance scam. Others convicted are Shakajede Okiemute, Amorighoye Precious and Prosper Nelson.

The Plateau state police command has paraded a lady who posed as hospital staff to steal a 3-day-old baby in Bingham area of the state.
According to her confessional statement, she said she was able to
steal the baby after telling the baby’s parent that she wants to take

An Akwa Ibom State High Court Uyo presided by Justice Joy Unwana
(extended jurisdiction) has handed down the death sentence to 7 persons,
including 3 policemen for kidnapping.
The other 4 convicts include a woman hired by the gang for N50, 000 to
cook for the victim, Deaconess Ime Anietie Ekanem, while they negotiated
for her ransom.
