NEWS UPDATE - ANOTHER COLLISION OCCURED IN COPEVILLE, KWAZULU { SEE PHOTO }

   One person was killed and two others left injured after a collision on the R33 near Copeville, KwaZulu-Natal. The collision occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning and involved a truck as well as a light motor vehicle.


 

    “It is believed that the truck was travelling up a hill and the light motor vehicle was coming down the hill. The two vehicles allegedly collided at a high speed. When paramedics arrived on scene they found that the driver of the light motor vehicle had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on scene,” ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said. Rossouw said two other people sustained minor to moderate injuries. “Paramedics treated and transported one patient to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg for further treatment. The remaining patient was treated and transported by another medical service on scene,” he said. Two other patients were transported to a local hospital for further treatment as they sustained minor to moderate injuries. The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
